Dhola
Dhola by Ashab Lodhi
Growing up in Bahawalpur, my childhood was deeply rooted in traditions that shaped my perspective and passions. Among these cherished traditions was the wearing of taweez, small amulets containing Islamic kalmat that my mother lovingly placed around our necks. These amulets, featuring silver pieces strung on black threads, were more than just protective charms; they symbolized the rich cultural heritage and craftsmanship of my hometown.
The choice of silver and black string holds profound significance. Silver, a noble metal, is revered not only for its beauty and durability but also for its spiritual connotations, often associated with purity and protection. The black string, contrasting yet complementing the luminous silver, represents resilience and strength, serving as a powerful anchor for the sacred words housed within.
Inspired by this meaningful aspect of my upbringing, I decided to launch a brand that would bring this piece of my heritage to the world. Each piece of jewellery we create carries the essence of Bahawalpur craftsmanship, combining traditional methods with modern aesthetics. Our silver pieces on black string are not just accessories; they are a bridge to my past, crafted with the same devotion that my mother and many before her poured into their work. This brand is my homage to the artistry and spirit of Bahawalpur, keeping my roots alive in every design.
